Riding lessons
Whether it’s your child’s first time on a pony, you are looking to strengthen their skills or get out into competition we have the facilities, instructors, and pony sizes to help achieve these goals while developing leadership, resilience, and self-confidence in a supportive and fun environment.
Introductory LessonS
Introductory lessons are the best way to start off your budding equestrian. We like to establish a level of confidence, balance, and control before moving up to group lessons.

The introductory lessons are 45 minutes and take place on a Saturday and Sunday.
There are a maximum or 2 riders in the lesson.
Group Lessons
If your child adores riding and pony care then group lessons are for you.
Over the course of the term your child will learn how to get their pony in safely from the paddock, groom, and saddle up before their lesson.
Riders will be placed in a group of children of the same level of experience for optimal learning, where dressage, jumping and games will be taught throughout the term.

Pony Tales is now an NZPCA Center. This means we are able to run pony club ‘rallies’, put candidates forward for NZPCA certificates and use the NZPCA (globally recognised) resources and education system.
Pony Club is a global organisation and the qualifications & education standards it follows are recognised internationally. (If your child has aspirations of working in the equine industry either in NZ or abroad these certificates are recognised)

Pony Club sessions are 2 hours.
They consist of a mixture of horse management & riding.
Sessions are held on Saturday & Sunday (AM & PM sessions)

Designed especially for Under 5 years, these lessons encourage budding equestrians to have fun whilst learning about ponies & riding basics.
With a relaxed & flexible format and including parental participation.

Half hour sessions
Maximum of 4 riders.
These sessions are currently held on a Tuesday 2pm to 2.30pm.
